Plot summary
Dr. Lorenzo Cameron once held a university post, but his theory that wolf blood transfusions could give a person wolf-like traits was laughed at by four professors, and he lost his position. He now lives near a swamp with his daughter Lenora and his simple-minded gardener Petro. Cameron draws blood from a caged wolf and prepares a serum, then tests it on Petro, who grows fur and fangs. Cameron pictures his former colleagues in his laboratory and proposes wolf-like soldiers for the war, and he plans to settle accounts with the men who mocked him. Lenora's suitor, the newspaper reporter Tom Gregory, is asking questions about a death near the swamp.
