Plot summary
David is separated from his wife Nikki, and together they are raising four children in a rural Utah town. Nikki has begun seeing Derek, a man she works with, which stirs intense emotions in David. Their eldest daughter, Jess, takes the separation badly and tells David that her mother is cheating, not knowing that her parents had agreed they could see other people. One morning David finds Nikki and Derek asleep in the bed and considers shooting them, but he does not, and he seeks solace at his father's home. He sets out in his truck after Derek, intending to kill him, until a message from Nikki changes his course.
