Plot summary
Liz Dunn is found disheveled and bloody, eighteen days after she disappeared with Mike Steel, Geoff Bingham and Frankie Almond Smith. The psychiatrist Dr. Philippa Horwood interviews her. At her physical examination she shows discomfort when doctors try to take a rape kit. Liz describes herself as unpopular at school, with a way in with the socialite Frankie and a crush on Mike, a rich and popular student. Martin, who runs errands for other pupils for money, is asked by Mike and Geoff to get them out of a school trip. He settles on a weekend for the three of them inside a disused underground nuclear shelter, adds Liz, leads them down, takes his payment and locks the door.
