Plot summary
John Wayne Gacy's father tells him he will never be brave enough, then kicks him. In 1976 Gacy lives near Chicago as a contractor and family man the community counts as an asset. A neighbor interrupts a family lunch to complain about the smell rising from Gacy's crawl space, and an employee named Steve says two weeks of wages have gone unpaid. Gacy asks a friend what to do and is told lime will help. He hires men, berates them for smoking on the job, wrestles an employee in his yard and hosts a Fourth of July costume party. He hires an exterminator for the maggots and cockroaches in the crawl space.
