Plot summary
Mr. Simms is the eccentric director of a funeral parlor, where three street criminals, Bulldog, Ball, and Stack, arrive to buy a stash of drugs he says he found in an alley and kept inside. He leads the three of them through the rooms, telling stories about the bodies in his care as they go. One story is about Clarence Smith, a rookie police officer whose partner, Newton Houser, brings him to what looks like a routine traffic stop involving Martin Ezekiel Moorehouse, a city councilman who campaigns against police corruption. Another is about Walter Johnson, a quiet boy who arrives at a new school with bruises and tells his teacher, Richard Garvey, that a monster hurt him.

- The "Boys Do Get Bruised" segment was loosely based on an incident from Rusty Cundieff's childhood: he remembered visiting a friend's house down the block from his childhood home in Pittsburgh and seeing his friend's younger sister gagged and hogtied in the basement.
- Rusty Cundieff cast his own parents in the story "KKK Comeuppance": his father plays the preacher who gives the eulogy to Rhodie, and his mother plays Miss Cobbs. His father had written a sermon and got nervous once Cundieff called "Action!"
