Plot summary
David Stevens moves to Riga for a job at a press network, leaving a bad break-up behind. His editor, Grant, lends him a house on the city's outskirts and an old BMW, and David's neighbor Robert, a friendly mobile nurse, helps him get the car running. The two spend an evening drinking at a club, where David meets Janine, a cyclist from London. Driving home drunk, David hits a woman on a bike. Robert says she is dead and talks him into leaving the scene and driving on. Afterward Robert stays calm, pressing David to keep quiet and agree on an alibi, while David's guilt grows and his editor hands him the case to cover.
