Plot summary
Kid Sally Palumbo grows jealous of Baccala, the older mobster he answers to, who has little respect for the crew Kid Sally commands. Baccala lets him supervise a six-day bicycle race and keep the money it brings in. Twelve Italian cyclists are brought into New York City, among them Mario Trantino, a budding thief. When outside interference stops the race from taking place, Sally is demoted to driving Baccala as his chauffeur, and Trantino stays in the city to run con games of his own, among them posing as a priest. Sally's mother, Big Momma, pushes him to move against the entrenched mobsters in power.
