Sam Coppola
Biography
Sam Coppola was an American character actor who worked in stage, film, and television, with more than 35 film credits and roughly 40 television appearances after he began in 1968. Born in Jersey City, he trained at the Lee Strasberg acting studio. His film roles included Dan Fusco, the hardware store owner who advised John Travolta's Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever (1977), and Fuselli in Fatal Attraction (1987). He also appeared in Serpico (1973). On television he had parts in Ryan's Hope, The Equalizer, The Practice, The Wire, The Good Wife, and the Law & Order franchise, and he played a therapist on The Sopranos and mob boss Paul Castellano in The Big Heist. On stage he portrayed Aaronow in a 2000 Glengarry Glen Ross and Vladimir in a 2005 Waiting for Godot. He died in 2012.
