Plot summary
Fourteen months after a flight went missing with six children aboard, Telly Paretta still holds vigils in her son Sam's room and visits his grave, while her husband, Jim Paretta, wants her to move on. Her therapy with Dr. Jack Munce is meant to help her with her grief. Then Sam's photos disappear from her album, and Jim and Dr. Munce tell her she miscarried and that Sam was a delusion. Telly searches for proof that Sam existed. She finds Lauren's drawings beneath the wallpaper in the apartment of Ash Correll, a former New York Ranger whose child was on the same flight, but he says he never had a daughter.
