Plot summary
Chuck Boyd trained his son Dustin, known as 'The Hammer', to play tennis, and a wrist broken in a teenage match cost Dustin any chance of turning professional. Decades later he teaches at Chuck's club beside his assistant PJ, still chasing the success and the approval he never had. Pickleball players at the club want more space, and Chuck moves to settle the dispute through a tennis duel, with a club tournament to decide who represents him. Dustin wins the tournament, hurts his wrist again while celebrating, and a doctor tells him pickleball would aid his recovery. At a pickleball club he partners with Candace, who took up the sport after a divorce. On the smaller court his powerful tennis swing works against him.
