Plot summary
Max and Drew, friends since childhood, host The Cleansing Hour, a popular livestream in which Max plays Father Max and casts a demon out of a possessed guest in every episode. The possessions are fake, scripted and orchestrated so that viewers will like and follow the videos and buy the goods on offer, and Max is fixated on drawing the largest audience he can. Lane, Drew's fiancée, is unhappy about the show but supports him, and when the actor scheduled for the current episode does not arrive, she agrees to stand in as the possessed person. The broadcast begins, and Lane is not acting.
