Plot summary
Pat Godfrey and Margie Southworth were sweethearts in Boise, Idaho, until Pat left for Hawaii to work in the outdoor-adventure business and Margie stayed behind at the retailer Connor and Co. Years later, Pat is divorced, the main parent to his teenage sons PJ and John, and has sold his Hawaii company to take a job in Boise, close to his widowed mother Lois, with whom the three of them will live. The job falls apart, and he needs another. Margie, now vice president of marketing and promotions under her old manager Willa, has been dating Scott for six months. Scott is being trained in her office, and Lois reads the accidental meetings between Pat and Margie as Godwinks.
