Plot summary
Joe Warr is a sportswriter from England who settled in South Australia with Katy, his second wife, and Artie, their young son. The homestead on the Fleurieu Peninsula has a treehouse, a flying fox and a swimming pool. After Katy's death from cancer, Joe is left to run the household and raise Artie by himself. Harry, his teenage son from his first marriage, arrives from boarding school in England and resents a father he hardly knows. Help comes from Laura, a single mother at Artie's school, and from Katy's parents at their vineyard nearer Adelaide, while Joe tries to keep his job and hold the household together.
