Biography

Laura Fraser is a Scottish actress who trained at what is now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, having attended Hillhead High School in her native Glasgow. Born in 1975, she landed her first big break in 1996 as Door in the BBC series Neverwhere. Her film roles include Lavinia in Titus (1999), Justine in Virtual Sexuality (1999), Candice in Kevin & Perry Go Large (2000), and Kate in A Knight's Tale (2001). On television she starred in the period dramas He Knew He Was Right (2004), Casanova (2005), and Reichenbach Falls (2007), and took the title role in Florence Nightingale in 2008. She played Cat MacKenzie in Lip Service from 2010 to 2012, then Lydia Rodarte-Quayle in Breaking Bad from 2012 to 2013, returning to that part in Better Call Saul between 2017 and 2020. Later roles included DS Annie Redford in The Loch in 2017 and Bea Metcalf in Patience in 2025.

In 1996, Fraser landed her first big break. She took the part of Door in Neverwhere, the BBC's dark fantasy series.
