Plot summary
Dazza is a suburban man who claims descent from Captain Cook and treats barbecue as his chief passion. Every Saturday he cooks for the people who live around him, and on one of those days his guests end up with food poisoning. With his reputation and dignity at risk, he looks for a way to make amends and asks a Scottish chef with a fearsome manner, known to everyone as The Butcher, to train him. The two of them then enter an international barbecue contest, where the methods Dazza uses at home are set against the finest cooks in the field.
