Plot summary
Two years after Tusker was diagnosed with early-onset dementia, he and his partner of twenty years, Sam, set out across England in a campervan, bound for the Lake District to revisit favorite spots and meet friends and family. Tusker is writing a book he will not show Sam, who is a pianist and composer preparing for what he calls his final concert. When Sam stops at a shop, Tusker takes their dog out without his mobile and becomes disoriented until Sam finds them. Sam's sister Lilly suggests a carer; Sam insists it is not yet necessary. On a walk in the woods, Sam raises the changes they will need at home and his plan to stop performing, and Tusker refuses to hear it.
