Plot summary
Ted Swenson teaches creative writing at Euston College in Vermont, where he has been a tenured professor for about ten years after his first novel brought him a little fame. His student Angela Argo asks him to read the opening chapter of her novel Eggs, and he praises the writing. His colleague Magda Moynahan mentions poems Angela turned in for her class and says Angela wanted them donated to the college library. Ted checks the poetry book out, and Angela gives him later chapters that grow increasingly erotic, about a teenage girl and her science teacher.
