Plot summary
Chun-Li and her family leave San Francisco for Hong Kong, where her father, the businessman Xiang, puts her through intensive wushu training. The criminal organization Shadaloo seizes Xiang in front of her. Grown up, she has turned away from the family's traditions and works as a concert pianist, and after her mother dies of terminal cancer a scroll in ancient Chinese reaches her. A woman who can read it tells her to go to Bangkok and look for a man named Gen. In Bangkok, M. Bison has taken over Shadaloo and keeps the masked assassin Vega beside him. Chun-Li fails to find Gen; a fight with local gangsters leaves her unconscious and Gen carries her to his home. He says he once fought alongside Bison and can lead her to her father if she returns to training under him.
