Robin Shou
Biography
Robin Shou is a Hong Kong-born actor, martial artist and stuntman who became an action star in his home city before moving to Hollywood. He took up wushu as a university student after watching Jet Li in Shaolin Temple and became a Hong Kong stuntman. He won the International Forms title in 1982 and 1983. His first dramatic role came in the 1990 television film Forbidden Nights, his American debut, though he returned to Hong Kong for movies such as Tiger Cage II (1990). In 1994 he went back to Los Angeles and landed his first American lead as Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat (1995), reprising the role in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997). He also appeared with Chris Farley in Beverly Hills Ninja (1997). He later played Gen in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009) and 14K in the Death Race films from 2008 to 2013, and he trained Milla Jovovich for Resident Evil.
