Trailer

Plot summary

By 1863, steam power has transformed Europe. There, a scientist named Lloyd Steam and his son Edward chase a discovery: a mineral water found in Iceland that they believe could drive steam engines without limit. A failed experiment in Russian Alaska leaves a sphere that holds something dangerous. Lloyd later mails that sphere to his grandson James Ray Steam, a thirteen-year-old maintenance boy in Manchester, telling him to keep it safe. When men of the O'Hara Foundation come to take it, Lloyd urges Ray to flee and deliver it to Robert Stephenson. Ray escapes the agents on a monowheel he built himself.
