Plot summary
Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey "Po" Powell are art students in 1968 when they create a photo collage for the Pink Floyd album A Saucerful of Secrets. The cover helps launch both Pink Floyd and Hipgnosis, the design studio they founded. Over the next 25 years, Hipgnosis produces a stream of iconic rock album covers, relying on experimental photography and unconventional layouts. Their clients include Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney and Wings, and 10cc, as well as several additional Pink Floyd releases. Musicians who commissioned covers discuss the design process, and the film also examines the influence of their work on rock album covers throughout the era.
