Plot summary
Samantha Gray is a famous figure skater who has recently married Alan Falconer, a London businessman, and has been labeled mentally unstable. On their wedding day, William Haskin, an ex-convict, starts following Samantha. Over the following days, Haskin frightens her by leaving bloody knives where she will find them, including her own home. She confides in Leonard Hawthorne, a psychiatrist friend, that Haskin had been her mother's lover and was imprisoned for killing her. Now that Haskin has been released, Samantha is certain he is trying to murder her too. That night, Leonard is found dead in his car.

- According to distributor Kino Lorber, the British Board of Film Classification ordered more than a minute of footage cut from Schizo's theatrical release in the United Kingdom.
- Money was so tight on Schizo that many of Lynne Frederick's costumes came from her own personal wardrobe, including outfits she had worn the previous year in A Long Return (1975).
- Lynne Frederick went into Schizo days after wrapping Voyage of the Damned (1976); she had cut her trademark long hair for that role, and director Walker cast her still believing she had it.
- A flop on release, Schizo became a cult classic in the horror community, helped by Lynne Frederick's own cult fanbase, and along with Vampire Circus (1971) made her a 1970s scream queen icon.
