Plot summary
At a charity gala full of celebrities and billionaires, the speeches are mostly empty. Mike Tyler, a movie star who is attempting a comeback, is among the guests and is in the middle of an existential crisis. Joan, a radical warrior, arrives with her devoted followers and takes Mike hostage along with two other people. Her group believes that sacrificing three people would save humanity. The night descends into chaos, and for Mike the hours that follow become both an outward adventure and an inward journey, in which the line between performance and belief, and between salvation and sacrifice, begins to blur.
