Plot summary
Doug Jones is a Roman-Catholic priest whose parents die in a car fire, and he travels to China on a spiritual journey. There he crosses paths with ninjas hunting an artifact that turns a person into the Dragon Warrior, and it infects him. Nightmares follow, and late one night he goes into the forest and changes into a dinosaur, rescuing Carol, who works as a prostitute, from a thug. He wakes naked in her bed with no memory of the night before and at first believes they had sex; Carol tells him what happened and suggests he use his new power to fight crime. Not persuaded, he returns to the church for confession.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The VelociPastor (2018)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Brendan Steere got the idea in 2010 while at Manhattan's School of Visual Arts, when his phone autocorrected "Velociraptor" to "Veloci Pastor", which became the film's title.
- Steere's class project of fake exploitation trailers drew around 45,000 views, against roughly 45 views for each of his earlier YouTube videos, and that response led to the feature film.
- After two failed crowdfunding attempts between 2011 and 2016, first on Kickstarter and then on Seed&Spark, the film was funded by a private investor known to the mother of one of Steere's friends.
- The feature was shot for a budget of $36,000, and Steere has said he was influenced by director Guillermo del Toro.
