Virginia Huston

Virginia Huston was an American actress whose career began on stage before she moved into film. She was born in Wisner, Nebraska, and gained early stage experience with the Omaha Community Playhouse. At 12 she made her radio debut in an episode of Calling All Cars. Her first film was Desirable Woman, and after signing with RKO in 1945 she appeared opposite George Raft in Nocturne (1946). She became known for film noir and adventure films of the 1940s and 1950s, among them Out of the Past (1947), as Robert Mitchum's girlfriend, The Racket (1951), also with Mitchum, and Tarzan's Peril (1951), as Jane. She also appeared in Flamingo Road (1949) and Sudden Fear (1952), two Joan Crawford dramas. In time her roles became smaller and included B-level films. She died in 1981.
