Plot summary
Two convicts, Joe Blake and Terry Collins, escape from an Oregon penitentiary in a concrete mixing truck with one plan: rob enough banks to fund the new life they want south of the border. Their method earns them the name the Sleepover Bandits. They take a bank manager the night before a job, stay overnight with the family, and walk into the bank with him the next morning. Harvey Pollard, a would-be stunt man, drives the getaway car and keeps watch. The robberies put the pair on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list and lift the reward for their capture to a million dollars. Kate Wheeler, a housewife in a failing marriage, leaves home and ends up with the two men, drawn to Joe but also to Terry.
