Terry Moore
Biography
Terry Moore is an American actress who has worked in film and television for more than eighty years. Born in Los Angeles in 1929, she started as a child performer in small parts and played Ingrid Bergman's character as a young teenager in Gaslight (1944). A long-term deal with Columbia Pictures followed, and RKO borrowed her to star in Mighty Joe Young (1949), the film that brought her wide recognition. She was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for Come Back, Little Sheba (1953). At 20th Century-Fox she made Peyton Place (1957) and Daddy Long Legs (1955), along with Beneath the 12-Mile Reef (1953) and Between Heaven and Hell (1956). On television she had a continuing role on the NBC Western Empire, playing a rancher's daughter, from 1962 to 1963, and guest spots on Bonanza, Batman, True Detective and Ray Donovan. In 1994 she received a place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
