Plot summary
A loitering charge lands Stan and Ollie in an Arizona jail overnight, and the authorities tell them to leave town at once. With no way to travel, they hire on to carry a coffin to Dayton, Ohio, for nothing. Their employers, Frank Lucas and Joe Morgan, take orders from Darby Mason, a wanted criminal, and keep that quiet. At the station the two also load Mason's trunk, believing it belongs to Dante, a magician. Confidence men cheat them out of their money along the way, and Dante comes to their aid. In Dayton the trunks part company: Mason's reaches the theater where Dante is booked, and Dante's goes to a sanatorium.
