Richard Fancy

Biography

Richard Fancy is an American actor and comedian who was born in Evanston, Illinois. He is best known for his recurring part on Seinfeld as Mr. Lippman, the publisher who employs Elaine Benes, and gained attention as well for playing High Priest Caiaphas in The Chosen. Television viewers also saw him as Mr. Stravely, a network boss, on It's Garry Shandling's Show during its third and fourth seasons, and as Dr. Valenti, the principal at Kevin Arnold's high school, across seasons four and five of The Wonder Years. His film credits include What About Bob? (1991), Oliver Stone's Nixon (1995) and Primal Force (1999). He also spent years on General Hospital as Bernie Abrahms, a mob financier, and turned up in two Star Trek series, The Next Generation and Voyager.
