Biography

Peter Dobson is an American actor, born in Red Bank, New Jersey, who trained at the Academy of Dramatic Arts and at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York City and later studied with Sandra Seacat in Los Angeles. He joined a summer stock Royal Shakespeare Company in Monterey, California, and within three years of reaching Los Angeles won his first starring role, picked in a nationwide search for the Tri-Star musical Sing. He went on to Last Exit to Brooklyn (1989) and The Marrying Man (1991), and Robert Zemeckis cast him in the title role of the CBS series Johnny Bago, which brought work in shows and TV movies including Miami Vice. He played young Elvis Presley in Forrest Gump (1994) and appeared in The Frighteners (1996), Drowning Mona (2000) and Norma Jean and Marilyn (1996). He later wrote and produced the short Choose Life and wrote and directed White Mule.
