Biography

Louis Mandylor is an Australian actor best known for playing Nick Portokalos across the My Big Fat Greek Wedding films, starting with My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002) and continuing through My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 (2016) and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (2023); he also carried the part into the spin-off series My Big Fat Greek Life. Born in Melbourne to Greek immigrant parents, he came to the United States after earlier careers in soccer and boxing. On television his roles included Louis Malone on the debut season of Martial Law and guest spots on Relic Hunter and Friends. He wrote and produced the short My Brother Cicero, and acted with his brother Costas in the Charmed episode Saving Private Leo and in Sinners and Saints (2010). Other credits include Suckers, as the car salesman Bobby DeLuca, and The Cursed, as Deputy Lloyd.

A role that slipped away
During the original casting for Friends, Mandylor tried out for the role of Joey, but Matt LeBlanc got the part. Director Kevin S. Bright said the decision between the two "went down to the wire".
A change of course
Before acting, Mandylor played for Heidelberg United FC in their 1988 State League championship team and appeared in five National League games in 1989, scoring one goal.
