Pauline Moore

Biography

Pauline Moore was an American actress whose career centered on Westerns and B movies in the 1930s and 1940s. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, she began with the Edna Preston stock theater company and later performed on Broadway. Her film debut came in Frankenstein in 1931. From the late 1930s into the early 1940s she appeared in 24 films under contract to 20th Century Fox. She then worked for Republic Pictures, where she starred in four Roy Rogers westerns and in King of the Texas Rangers in 1940. She also made three Charlie Chan films. With Shirley Temple she starred in Heidi in 1937, and with Henry Fonda she starred in Young Mr. Lincoln in 1939. In the 1950s she made a few television appearances and had a small role in Spoilers of the Forest in 1957, before she ended her acting career by choice. She died in 2001.
