Young Buffalo Bill (1940) on Netflix

Plot summary

Bill Cody and his friend Gabby Whitaker ride into the New Mexico Territory, where the government is surveying the old Spanish land grants. Gabby grumbles that the country holds nothing but Indians and rocks. Bill stops a runaway carriage, and its driver, Tonia Regas, scolds him for interfering. In Santa Fe she learns that the two men were called by Colonel Joseph Calhoun to do the survey. Calhoun, who knows Bill by his Pony Express and buffalo hunting reputation, asks their help with a medicine man named Akuna. Tonia's grandfather, Don Regas, resents the American survey, and his friend Emelio Montez sends word to Akuna, his half-brother, who rides out with his men.
