Plot summary
May 1974. Oxford professor Joseph Coupland teaches that paranormal events come from chaotic thoughts inside a person's mind, and he has an experiment to prove it. He hires Brian McNeil, who is not a student, to film Jane Harper, a young woman with no memory of her past who is held in a locked room where loud music keeps her awake. Coupland's assistants, Krissi Dalton and Harry Abrams, monitor the work. Jane's negative energy appears as a doll-like presence she calls Evie, and Coupland means to isolate and destroy it to cure her. When Oxford cuts his funding, the group moves the experiment to a house in the countryside, where they set up scanners to measure the energy in her room.
