Mitchell Ryan

Biography

Mitchell Ryan was an American actor whose six decades of television work included the 1960s soap opera Dark Shadows, where he originated the role of Burke Devlin, and the comedy Dharma & Greg, on which he played Edward Montgomery, the father of Greg Montgomery. Born in Cincinnati and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, he was a life member of the Actors Studio and appeared on Broadway in Wait Until Dark, Medea and The Price. His film work included the villain General Peter McAllister in Lethal Weapon (1987), plus Liar Liar (1997), Magnum Force (1973), Grosse Pointe Blank (1997), Electra Glide in Blue (1973) and Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993). He portrayed Chase Reddick on the crime drama Chase, played Kyle Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and served as president of the Screen Actors Guild Foundation.
