Ken Jenkins

Biography

Ken Jenkins is an American actor born in Dayton, Ohio, who joined Actors Theatre of Louisville in 1969 and spent three years as a company member. He is best known for playing Dr. Bob Kelso, the chief of medicine, as a main cast member during the first eight seasons of the comedy series Scrubs; he returned as a guest in the ninth and final season. Jenkins has also appeared on episodes of The X-Files, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Babylon 5, and Homefront. His film credits include Matewan (1987), The Abyss (1989), Executive Decision (1996), Fled (1996), Last Man Standing (1996), I Am Sam (2001), The Sum of All Fears (2002), and Clockstoppers (2002). He played U.S. Representative Howard W. Smith in the 2016 television movie All the Way, appeared repeatedly on Cougar Town as the father of Courteney Cox's character, voiced Blister on Harvey Beaks, and has been seen singing and playing acoustic guitar on Scrubs and Cougar Town.
