Justin Chambers
Biography
Justin Chambers is an American actor and former model. Born in Springfield, Ohio, he moved to New York City and studied acting for four years at HB Studio, having first been spotted by a modeling scout in Paris and then working for Calvin Klein, Armani, and Dolce & Gabbana. His first major acting role came in a Dave Matthews Band music video, and he followed it with a contract part as Nicholas Hudson on the soap opera Another World. After a supporting role in Liberty Heights (1999), he appeared in The Wedding Planner (2001), The Musketeer (2001), Hysterical Blindness (2002), Southern Belles (2005), and The Zodiac (2005). He was cast in 2004 as Alex Karev on Grey's Anatomy and stayed with the show until 2020, a part that brought him a Screen Actors Guild ensemble award and a 2017 People's Choice Award, and he later played Marlon Brando in The Offer (2022).

Early training
Chambers studied acting for four years at New York's HB Studio and Ron Stetson Studios after moving to the city in the early 1990s to pursue an acting career.
First role
Chambers landed his first major acting role in the Dave Matthews Band music video for "Ants Marching" in 1995, before going on to television work.
A role that slipped away
In 2003, Chambers landed a lead role on the CBS crime drama Cold Case, but he appeared in just three of the show's first four episodes before leaving.
