George Dolenz

George Dolenz was an American actor of film and television. He was born in Trieste in 1908, and he left Europe for the United States in 1934, reaching Florida by steamship. In Hollywood from 1937, he first worked as a waiter and then moved from bit parts in B pictures to supporting roles. After World War II, RKO Pictures signed him as a leading man, but when Vendetta failed in 1950, he went back to character parts at other studios. That period included MGM's The Last Time I Saw Paris, where he played the husband of Donna Reed's character. In 1956 he headlined the ITC series The Count of Monte Cristo as Edmond Dantes. Later television work brought him guest roles in Western shows such as The Restless Gun, Cimarron City, The Rebel, and The Deputy. His final part was in a Bonanza episode broadcast in 1963, and he died that year.
