Darrell Hammond

Darrell Hammond is an American actor, comedian and impressionist who spent 14 seasons as a cast member on the NBC sketch show Saturday Night Live, beginning in 1995, and has been the show's announcer since 2014. Born in Melbourne, Florida, he studied at HB Studio and appeared in theater productions after moving to New York City, then worked in Florida as a radio DJ and voiceover artist. At 32 he moved back to New York to try stand-up again, and after two failed SNL auditions a producer spotted him doing a Bill Clinton impression. Clinton was his most frequent impersonation, among more than 107 celebrities he played; others included Al Gore, Donald Trump, John McCain and, in the Celebrity Jeopardy! skits, Sean Connery. He also impersonated Elmer Fudd for a late-1980s comedy single, played Colonel Sanders in KFC ads in 2015, and made his Broadway debut in 2007 in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
