Plot summary
Lucy's adoptive father, a museum curator, is attacked by Silas, and the clues he leaves behind send her to a candy bar in a vending machine that holds a Golden Ticket. Edward, a monk in training, Susan, an adopted girl far from home, and Peter, a student at Mutant Academy mocked for his chicken-like wings, each come by tickets of their own. The four meet at Willy's Chocolate Factory, where Willy says he means to use them as an ingredient in his treats. Lucy hides in a wardrobe, steps into a wintry forest and meets Mr. Tumnus, who tells her she has reached Gnarnia, a land held by the White Bitch. The other three follow her through, and the four take shelter at Tumnus' house.
