Biography

Brett Halsey, sometimes credited as Montgomery Ford, is an American former film actor born in Santa Ana in 1933. He worked as a CBS page and was placed by Universal-International in a school for aspiring actors. After his Korean War service in the U.S. Navy, he appeared in television Westerns and films including The Cry Baby Killer (1958), The Atomic Submarine (1959), Return of the Fly (1959) and Twice-Told Tales (1963). Relocating to Italy in the early 1960s, he became known for swashbuckling parts, Spaghetti Westerns and Eurospy films such as Today We Kill, Tomorrow We Die! (1968) and Roy Colt and Winchester Jack (1970). Returning to the United States, he worked in film and television, including The Godfather Part III (1990), Touch of Death (1988), A Cat in the Brain (1990), Demonia (1990) and Expect No Mercy (1995). He was the second actor to play John Abbott on The Young and the Restless from May 1980 to March 1981.
