Plot summary
Work on Touch of Death has left its director, Dr. Lucio Fulci, unable to sit through a meal: plates of meat in a restaurant send him back to the cannibal scene he has just filmed. Back at his row house in Rome, a handyman's chainsaw outside his window costs him sleep, and red paint he spills from smashed cans recalls a blood scene of his own. He tells all of this to Professor Egon Schwarz, who says the line between what he films and what is real is breaking down. His producer Filippo pushes him to work faster on two pictures at once, Touch of Death and Ghosts of Sodom, and after an interview with a Munich news crew, Fulci learns he ran amok, wrecked the camera and went at the reporter.
