Biography
Barbara Bach is an American retired actress and model. Born in New York City, she grew up in Queens and shortened her surname in 1965, when she started modeling professionally for catalogs and fashion magazines. She ranked among the most sought-after faces of that decade, working with the Eileen Ford Agency and appearing on covers of magazines such as Seventeen and Vogue. She began acting in Italy, playing Nausicaa in the 1968 television adaptation L'Odissea, an eight-hour version of Homer's Odyssey. In 1971 she co-starred with Claudine Auger and Barbara Bouchet in the giallo Black Belly of the Tarantula (1971). In 1977 she took the part of Anya Amasova, a Russian spy, in the Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). She also acted in Force 10 from Navarone (1978). An audition for the fourth season of Charlie's Angels went to Shelley Hack instead. She has appeared in 28 films.
