Angela Clarke

Angela Clarke was an American actress of stage, film and television who came to screen work late, taking uncredited parts from 1946 before earning her first screen credit in The Undercover Man (1949). Born in New York City, she became known for gray-haired matriarchal roles, among them Mama Caruso in The Great Caruso (1951). Over four decades she appeared on screen more than sixty times, in films and in guest spots on television series. Her more substantial film work included The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima (1952), House of Wax (1953), Houdini (1953) and The Seven Little Foys (1955), where she played Bob Hope's disapproving sister-in-law. She also guest starred on television, starting with the premiere episode of Ben Casey. She died in 2010.
