Plot summary
Ambassador Han addresses the World Criminal Court in Los Angeles about the fight against the Triads, with Chief Inspector Lee on his security detail and Detective Carter on traffic duty. Before Han can announce what he knows about Shy Shen, a gunman shoots him and escapes. Han survives, and his daughter Soo Yung asks Lee and Carter to find whoever did it. At the kung fu studio of Master Yu they learn the Triads have taken Soo Yung's belongings and are on their way to the hospital. Lee and Carter stop the hitmen sent for Han, question one of them with help from a French-speaking nun, Sister Agnes, and leave Soo Yung at the French Embassy with Varden Reynard. A car bomb nearly kills Reynard and Soo Yung, so the two men fly to Paris.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Rush Hour 3 (2007)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- For Rush Hour 3, Chris Tucker was paid $25 million and Jackie Chan $15 million, while director Brett Ratner got $7.5 million and writer Jeff Nathanson $3 million. Chan also took 15% of the box office plus China and Hong Kong distribution rights, bringing his total to at least $53,700,000.
- Rush Hour 3 was not shown in Chinese cinemas in 2007. A business representative said it was held back to make room for a wider variety of foreign films, under China's quota of 20 imported films a year at the time.
- The scene where Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker fight the Kung-Fu Giant, played by Chinese basketball player Sun Mingming, parodies Bruce Lee's Game of Death, in which Lee fights the taller Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Rush Hour 3 flips the image, putting the shorter African-American Tucker against a taller Chinese basketball player.
