Plot summary
Zach Truett is an All-State athlete, and he plays football. He and his brother Dave have lost their mother, and their father abandoned the two of them. The brothers use the game to cope with those losses, and Zach finds glory on the field. He works to earn a college scholarship, the ticket out of town that the two of them need. A devastating injury takes Zach off the field and puts his dreams on the sidelines along with him.
