Plot summary
Terry Twillstein, a failing infomercial personality and inventor, sees an opportunity in Ronnie Dobbs, a redneck petty criminal whose arrests keep being filmed by Fuzz, a television show in the style of Cops. Ronnie's popularity with lowbrow viewers convinces Terry to take an idea to network executives: a series called Ronnie Dobbs Gets Arrested, in which Ronnie is taken into custody in a different city each week. Terry brings him to Hollywood to make the show his own, and the resulting fame and fortune change Ronnie's life. He has to deal with his new life there while missing the ex-wife he left back home.
