Rodeo and Juliet (2015) on Netflix

Plot summary

Karen Rogers, a romance novelist in New York City, brings her daughter Juliet to the family ranch in Louisiana for Christmas, twenty years after Karen left. Her father, Pete, has died, and Karen wants to sell the place and go. Judge Brandon Lawrence, who is handling the estate, tells her the ranch is deep in debt and that no will has turned up. Hugh Anderson, once engaged to Karen and treated by Pete like a son, holds an undated agreement for half the ranch, and she means to fight it. Juliet, who never knew this place, finds one thing she likes in Pete's horse, Rodeo, and through Nan, a friend from the stables down the road, she meets Monty Anderson, Hugh's nephew.
