Plot summary
Joseph Smith is a homeless ex-special forces soldier in London, a fugitive from a military court martial. Thugs attack him one night and he breaks into a luxury apartment to escape. Its owner, a photographer named Damon, is away for eight months, so Joseph squats there under a new name, Joey Jones, and uses Damon's resources. He is friends with Sister Cristina, a Polish nun who runs a soup kitchen, and he looks for Isabel, a homeless friend coerced into prostitution by the gang that attacked him.
