Red Sands (2009) on Netflix

Plot summary

In September 2002, a squad of U.S. soldiers is assigned to watch a road near an isolated farmhouse where a family was killed days earlier, a sting aimed at militants moving supplies. An IED detonates beside the truck carrying Jeff Keller's men, and the dazed vehicle drifts away from the rest of the platoon. Staff Sergeant Marcus Howston is told to sweep the area, and the men find a shrine that their interpreter, Gregory Wilcox, calls a place of the Djinn. Chard Davies fires into a stone idol and breaks it, and the squad reaches the farmhouse, where the radio goes quiet and their truck will not start.
